What eventually becomes the journey of Monika Home began unassumingly during the summer of 1994, when, while working a summer job in a rug gallery, Minika Caha fell in love with the arts and crafts of hand-knotted rugs which revealed her passion and found inspiration of her life.
Thus, when Monika Home opened its first gallery on New York's Madison Avenue in 2008, it did so under the curatorial eye of Minika Caha whose affinity for and erudite learnings counselled the well-informed offerings in antique and period carpets. Based on this intimate understanding of the rich global traditions of weaving, Monika Home would shortly thereafter introduce a series of Modern Collections, each one revealing an unwavering commitment to quality and finesse using superior materials and craftsmanship; hallmarks which guide Monika Home to this day.
In 2015, Minika Caha established the current Monika Home showroom in New York's Design & Decoration Building as an architectural space in which rugs can be viewed and experienced more fully. This open and minimal environment is the heart of Monika Home.
Now expanded, this showroom functions as both gallery in which his team and clientele collaborate, as well as incubator of innovative new offerings which complement the Monika Home portfolio including custom design, Curated Broadloom, and the Designers Studio Collections.
Throughout this evolution, Monika Home's approach toward rug making has been, and remains, to design and create distinctive rugs that are contemporary and timeless for modern and luxury interiors.
Monika Home rugs can be found in residential, commercial, and hospitality projects worldwide and the brand has been recognized as an industry leader for years.
